What a way to start the new year.
Hello.
So this is it, huh? 2009 is about to draw to a close and here we are bracing ourselves for the impact of the new year. We set up goals and resolutions to better ourselves and hope to stick to those resolutions. More often than not, we fail. However that does not disfigure the human spirit to stay optimistic, to set goals and to aim for the better. If only we can apply these hopelessly...

Everyone needs a friend like her...
Vassi: So, as expected, I've been ruminating about what we were chatting about earlier. Like you said, the choices we make are what matter. By choosing something (i.e. going to med school in NYC versus somewhere else), am I unknowingly losing my chance to find "the one"? Am I going to be going through the rest of my life as half of a whole I'll never encounter?! OR do the choices we make simply lead us to the right type of person, not an individual? That I can believe. That's why I'm so wary of believing in soul mates. I really want to, but it's that fear that this whole concept has such a small success rate in actually bringing so-called soul mates together. I sometimes treat it as if it's a force of nature, that it can somehow control our actions and choices--thus making it ridiculously hard to trust.
So what are we logical, realistic gals supposed to do? Just hoping something organically happens without doing anything seems to good to be true.
My rant about absolutely nothing is over. Just something I've been pondering.
